On April 27, 2022, Google Adwords will be deprecated. Please migrate your Rivers to Google Ads.

Create Adwords Connection

A new connection can be created in the river screen using the button “create a new connection” or in the connections screen.

A pop up with connection details will appear regardless of how you create the connection.

  1. Insert the name of the connection in the “connection name” input

  2. User agent - insert your email

  3. Client customer - insert the client customer of your Adwords account. The client customer id can be found in your AdWords platform (the number in the top-right corner). You can find more help here .

  4. Click on “Sign in with Google” button

    1. A Google connection pop up should open

    2. Connect to the relevant Google account (A connection with access to your Adwords account)

    3. Click on ‘Save’ in order to keep that account in your Rivery account

  • If nothing happens after clicking the “Sign in with Google” button, your browser may have blocked the pop up:

  • On the right side of the URL in your browser, look for a button that says “popup blocked”:

  • Click on it and select “always allow popups from Rivery”
  • Click again on the “Sign in with Google” button and a pop up to connect to Google will show up on your screen.
  1. Click on “Test connection”. If the test passes, you’re ready to go with Adwords.

  2. Advanced options - In the advanced options, it is possible to insert a developer token. If you have a developer token for your own organization, it is recommended that you use it. Leaving that input empty will cause Rivery to use its own developer token. It does not affect the results.
